Your right, the volunteers shouldn't have scared the kids, mine was skittish as well ( age 3 and 1/2). But like you said it is run mostly by volenteers! I've been going to the library since it opened and was very impressed by the amount of people coming to the library and taking advantage of it in Century.

However, The past two months I have noticed that no one is ever in there the same time I was. My bet is attendance is down overall and the county is going to shut it down. I sure hope that doesn't happen, but I bet it does as tight as money is. What the old saying....if you don't use it, you lose it!

I think it is vey nice that the library is doing these programs. However I have a few ideas that might make it beter next year. I have a three year old duaghter that was first terrified of a man standing in the front of the room feeding off scaring the children when they walked in the door. This was suppose to be a childrens program and that was VERY uncalled-for. The second thing was the story time ok let's read the Headless Horse Man for a group of children 0-5. Why couldn't they do two age groups maybe read something more appropriate for the ages. Once again I know that most of these people are volunteers, and I'm very thankful for what they are tring to do. But as a mom I would never have taken my daughter to a haunted house at the age that is program is suppose to be set for, and feel that it should have been thought out alittle better.
