So much for people paying attention! My daughter almost got demolished at that intersection today! Thank goodness she still thinks the stop sign is there. She was about to stop (she was on Pine Barren Rd.) and a company vehicle had to swerve to miss her! He was the one supposed to stop! Wished she could remember the name of the company vehicle!

I live on Pine Barren Road near this intersection, and I don’t allow my children to play in our front yard during the afternoon due to the reckless speeds of the high school students, as well as other drivers. I hope the sheriffs office will be a presence on our road to help keep it safe.

I agree,it should have been made a four way stop!!! Some folks that drive on Pine Barren Road,use it as a speedway!!!! Try driving a bus on it shortly after Northview releases it’s students!!!!!!! It gets hairy and scary!!!!!

Jay, you are right…this will mean a better opportunity for speeding. The 4-Way stop would have been a much better idea.

This has been long overdue. According to Florida traffic regulations, paved roads have the right-of-way over dirt roads and when Pine Barren Road was paved the signage should have been properly placed by the county road department.

A draw back to the change in my opinion will be more speeding by drivers on Pine Barren. Maybe it should have been made a four-way stop. Just food for thought.
