Living in Molino, right off Highway 29, sometimes it is really hard just getting out of my driveway, but turning into my driveway is the scariest. I with another mother and friend of mine about 10 years ago or so did so much to not have the speed limit changed from 55mph to 65mph, and with the help from the newspaper we succeeded. We had our children getting on school buses and 18 wheelers and cars would be traveling at such a high rate of speed that, sometimes they would just blow right through the with the buses stopped and red lights blinking. There are still children boarding buses on Highway 29 and they are still speeding. We need more or frequent highway Patrol to Monitor these speeders, from Molino to Century. If it says 55mph, we know they do 65 or more, if it is 65, we know they are doing 70 or more. Please get us more help out this way before we have a real tragedy!! However, we need "enforcement" of speed limits through Century. Eighteen Wheelers and cars, alike, fly up and down highway 29 like it is a Nascar track. There has already been several fatalies and other serious accidents over the past several years on Highway 29. People need to "SLOW DOWN" and our law enforcement needs to "Crack down" on those who don't. Also, we have a very nice library now in our town but with it being directly on Hwy 29 and with "speeding" being such a problem in our town, I feel the town of Century should consider fencing the library yard to help protect our community's children while they are there.
